What an FSSAI inspector checks in your kitchen

There are 14 things they look at. Five come first — and three of those five are records you should already have. Saaf keeps those records for you, so “show me last November” takes one tap.

  1. 1

    Your licence on the wall

Put up where it can be seen, still valid, and the name matches your board.

    You just show it
  2. 2

    The Food Safety Display Board

Put up, easy to read, in the right spot, with your details filled in.

    You just show it
  3. 3

    Your staff papers

Medical fitness papers and FoSTaC training certificates — who was trained, and when.

    Saaf keeps this
  4. 4

    Water test report

A lab report saying your water is safe, with a date on it that is not two years old.

    Saaf keeps this
  5. 5

    Your daily records

Fridge temperatures twice a day, cleaning rounds, deliveries coming in, licence dates.

    Saaf keeps this
  6. Three of these five are a record somebody has to have kept.

Saaf keeps them as you go — temperatures, cleaning, deliveries, water reports, FoSTaC certificates and licence dates.

How the records get kept

Three taps for staff. One screen for you.

  • 01

Staff tap it in as they work

Fridge temperature, cleaning round, delivery in — three taps on the phone in their pocket, in their own language.

  • 02

    You see what was missed

Open one screen in the morning and see yesterday. Anything skipped is marked, before an inspector spots it.

  • 03

    Any month, one file

“Show me last November” becomes one file with dates, times and who wrote it.

Questions

Before you sign up

Is this an official FSSAI checklist?
No. It is a simple guide to what inspectors usually look at, written for kitchen owners. Saaf keeps your records. It does not give you any certificate and it is not connected to FSSAI.
Do I need a card to start?
No. You only need an email and your venue name. Nothing else, no card.
Will my staff be able to use it?
Yes. Three taps per entry, on their own phone, in nine languages. No training day needed.
What about my paper register?
Keep it if you want. But Saaf becomes the record you hand over — with dates, times and names.
